Experience
Bill earned a Bachelor's Degree in Policy Studies and Political Science at Syracuse University (where he remains an ardent Orangemen), before finishing his Juris Doctorate at the New England School of Law Business in Boston. He joined the Massachusetts State Senate as Special Counsel to the Chairman - Senate Ways & Means Committee before committing to a life in financial services. He has worked with some of the largest asset managers in the US - namely, Merrill Lynch, AIM (Invesco), OppenheimerFunds and most recently at Putnam Investments. His last few roles have been focused on Institutional Business Development and Consultant Relations. He brings a strong ability to combine technical knowledge with strategic thinking and interpersonal skills to quickly establish and maintain long-term and productive client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
At Cortland Bill plays a key leadership role to help develop Cortland’s US operations. Bill will be leading Cortland’s US operations and work closely with the SLT to set up distribution networks nationally across the US to attract investor capital, while working closely with external legal counsel, tax and fund administration resources to provide Cortland’s offerings through our forthcoming US Fund.
